The new look features LED lighting outside, interior upgrades and new safety features (including the world’s first front centre airbag to prevent front occupants from crashing into each other during side impacts). Among the other safety features are blind zone and cross-traffic alert systems (standard onDenali).

A chiselled, three-bar grille sits more upright on the vehicle’s nose, tying into the Sierra pickups, as well as the smaller Terrain. Standard diffused LED running lamps lend a premium look across the entireAcadiamodel line, independent from the optional HID headlamps. New taillamp detailing reflects the front changes. Other notable exterior features include wrap-around rear glass, new rear spoiler and new 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheels (dependent on trim level).

Inside, there are upgraded soft-touch materials, French stitching that adds a tailored look and red ambient light flowing across the dashboard. SLT andDenalimodels also get aluminum accents on the center console, doors and dash. The redesignedinfotainment functions feature touch-sensitive controls, and the audio system is HD radio capable, features a photo viewer and a standard rearview camera.

Power continues to be supplied by the 3.6-litre V6, putting 288 hp and 270 lb.-ft. of torque to the front wheels (or optionally all wheels) via the next generation Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission.
