The Lamborghini Reventón may not be a reinvention, but there's no doubt that it'll turn heads - if you can actually find one. There will only be 20 made worldwide.

The all-wheel drive Reventón - which is named after a fighting bull owned by the Don Rodriguez family - is based on the Murcielago LP640, but is altered to make it a brand new car in its own right. as Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. put it: "Our designers at the Lamborghini Style Centre took the technical base of the Murciélago LP640 and compressed and intensified its DNA, its genetic code."

Inside the Reventón, just behind the driver and passenger, sits a giant 6.5-litre, 12-cylinder engine that pumps out 650-horsepower at 8,000 rpm. It also produces a maximum of 660 lbs.-ft. of torque. Did we mention the vehicle can reach speeds upward of 340 km/h?

The central-rear mounted engine is mated to a robotised electronic 6-speed gear shifter that Lamborghini says can changes gears 'faster than even the most expert driver.' It has a 0-100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds.

The exterior shows off seemingly endless amounts of sharp edges, precise lines and clean surfaces. In addition, interrupted lines and contorted surfaces create a 'fascinating play of light' according to Lamborghini. Just like the LP640, the Reventón's exterior material consists of a composite carbon fibre - an extrememly stable yet extremely light material.

Like all V12 Lamborghinis since the Countach, the doors of this newest car swing upward.

Inside, the driver of the Reventón can choose from two different vehicle information display modes at the touch of a button. Drivers will also notice the brand new G-Force-Meter, which displays dynamic drive forces, longitudinal acceleration during both acceleration and braking, as well as acceleration around bends. A similar instrument can be found in airplanes.

The 20 units will only be available to Lamborghini friends and collectors, and will be manufactured in the automaker's Sant'Agata, Italy factory.
