There's plenty of new additions for the Chrysler PT Cruiser in 2006, including a new front grille and upgraded interior equipment and options, but some of the biggest changes can't even be seen.

The PT Cruiser has an all-new acoustics package which includes improved sealing around the doors, windows, rear floor pan and increased sound absorption in the trim panels to make for an overall quieter drive. Foam has been added inside the A-pillar for decreased noise as well.

In addition to this, the high-output turbo model gets an increase of 10-horsepower over last year's model for a total of 230-horsepower, as well as 245-lbs.ft. of torque.

The new PT Cruiser's interior is completely changed, with a new centre console with sliding armrest, larger gauges on the instrument panel and an analog clock. The radio has been moved up and a grab handle has been added to the right side of the instrument panel to make for easier access for passengers entering and leaving the vehicle. The glove box size has increased and their is more choice in terms of seat trims and fabric.

Standard options inside all 2006 PT Cruiser models include power locks and courtesy map lamps. Rear windows switches are higher on the back of the centre console for easier access.

The exterior of the vehicle features a new front grille, headlamps and round fog lamps. A body-color spoiler on the liftgate improves aerodynamics according to Chrysler.

The PT Cruiser in 2006 will be available in four versions: PT Cruiser, Touring, Limited and GT.
