Running on 100% ethanol fuel, the two-seat Saab Aero X concept is designed to mimic the shape and look of an airplane cockpit, gaining inspiration from the company's aviation roots.

Typical of most Saab products, the Aero X does not carry your traditional design concepts. It doesn't include doors or window pillars, meaning the driver has full 180 degree vision. In the rear, the concept does contain a conventional hatchback opening, which includes a sliding drawer underneath and a twin storage facility. The vehicle itself includes lightweight powertrain and carbon fibre bodywork, making for a low curb weight.

Inside, all typical buttons and knobs have been eliminated. Designers made it so data is displayed on glass-like acrylic 'clear zones' in graphic 3D images.

The all-wheel drive Aero X is powered by a 400-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 engine that can launch the car from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds according to computer simulations. These same simulations anticipate a top speed of 250 km/h.
