According to Chrysler Canada CEO Reid Bigland, his company is well-poised to weather the current economic storm, through drastic restructuring and elimination of slow moving product.

Despite dire reports of plummeting sales across the industry, Chrysler claims 2008 sales were its highest in five years. Dodge Ram was voted the International Pickup Truck of the Year, as well as AJAC Truck of the Year, combined minivan sales are up, and the Journey was the number one selling crossover in the country.

Brigland says that with more focus on financial, social, and environmental responsibility, the company's "tag line for this year is Lean and Green".

Chrysler's Electric Vehicle Division (ENVI) has a growing portfolio of all-electric and range-extended vehicles across the lineup. Three electric-vehicle prototypes were recently introduced, with the promise of at least one being available for the North American market by 2010, three more to follow by 2013 and a projected 500,000 vehicles on the road by the same year. These include the Chrysler 200C EV sedan, the Jeep Patriot EV, the Chrysler Town & Country EV and the all-electric sports car - the Dodge Circuit EV.

Unveiling the new Heavy Duty Dodge Ram, Chrysler Designer Ralph Gilles described it as "one bad-ass truck". With feedback from ranchers, horse-breeders and working pickup truck owners, the new Ram has been redesigned to be more aerodynamic, with "phenomenal interiors". Available with two different front end treatments, and new Crew Cab configuration, there are five trim levels.
