DETROIT - Canadian Auto Workers members gathered at a bank in downtown Detroit Tuesday to protest its involvement in an ongoing dispute over the closure of two auto parts makers in Windsor, Ont.
CAW members who were employed by Aradco and Aramco say they're owed a substantial amount of severance and back pay from the companies, which closed in March.
The companies are auctioning off their assets, and workers want a piece of the proceeds.
Comerica Bank in Detroit is one of the creditors of Catalina Precision Products, owner of Windsor-based Aradco and Aramco.
CAW spokesman Angelo DiCaro says workers feel they should get what they're owned by Catalina before the bank does.
The union says the company owes its members $2.4 million.
