After releasing the six-seat Concept-X earlier in 2005, Suzuki introduced the Concept-X2, a smaller SUV that is meant to illustrate the company's new "Way of Life" philosophy, at the 2005 New York International Auto Show.

The C-X2 combines a V6 engine and full-time four-wheel drive and is expected to deliver 185-horsepower. It has four-wheel independent suspension as well as four separate 4x4 traction modes - high-range, high-range lock, low-range lock and neutral - enabling the vehicle to match its off-road capability to any terrain.

The exterior features bold lines and flared front and rear wheel arches, muscular fenders and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The newest Suzuki SUV concept has a wide low stance for a lower centre of gravity.

Other exterior features on the Concept-X2 include a keyless start system, a rear roof spoiler with LED high-mounted stoplamp and dual-chrome exhaust tips. Interior features include heated black leather seats, automatic climate control system, an AM/FM/XM CD stereo with seven speakers including a subwoofer and a three-spoke steering wheel with audio and cruise control switches.

The C-X2 has several active and passive safety features, including electronic stability program which includes an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, traction control and stability control. It also includes dual front and side airbags, front and rear curtain airbags, a head-impact protection structure and an energy-absorbing front structure.
