If you've ever wanted to take your living room on the road with you, check out Chrysler's latest concept, the Akino. You may be very surprised to see what designers put inside it - it's a lot different from your average car!

The reason for this concept? As Trevor Creed, senior VP, Design, Chrysler Group says: "On this project we imagined a new small super-efficient powertrain that allows freedom for the designer to create a new solution for future transportation."

A big focus was put into making a comfortable interior. The name 'Akino' (named after designer Akino Tsuchiya) means 'autumn field,' and Tsuchiya says that she was aiming for that kind of soothing feeling inside the Akino when designing it.

The interior is unique in many ways, not the least of which is the fabrics used inside - bamboo flooring, a throw rug, lighting sconce, mood lighting and even throw pillows. Tsuchiya wasn't kidding when she said she wanted the inside to feel as comfortable as a living room. The front seats resemble arm chairs and the rear seats are similar to a sofa.

The Akino has one door on the driver's side and two doors on the passenger side, which open in opposite directions. In addition, the front passenger seat swivels, allowing for more interaction between occupants.

From the outside, people may notice that the side glass has an unusual graphic breakup while the rear glass is coated with texture to give passengers a sense of privacy and comfort.
