The Lincoln MKS concept was introduced alongside the MKX crossover concept at the 2006 North American International Auto Show and the company says the MKS hints strongly at the design direction of Lincoln's future flagship sedan.

The MKS includes a 315-horsepower, 4.4-litre V8 engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission to make for a sporty sedan that's also luxurious. And by luxurious, we mean things like: heated and cooled seats with 14-way power adjustments, a panoramic glass roof, adaptive LED head lights, advanced navigation system, Bluetooth and DVD-audio surround sound.

Regarding the look of the MKS, Lincoln says that 'people want refinement, rather than ostentation' in a luxury vehicle, and the MKS 'captivates with a whisper' rather than a shout. It's face features a modern interpretation of the classic Lincoln grille, featuring the waterfall and signature crosshatch star.

The exterior features a confident stance and clean surfaces and communicates power, motion and speed. It includes large 20-inch wheels - the largest ever on a Lincoln sedan.

Inside, the MKS has a panoramic glass sunroof to help make the interior seem even more spacious. The seats are covered in leather and the console is covered in grey suede. Doors are offset by pearl white suede.

Another highlight of the MKS is the Mobile Media System. It's a touch-screen system that avoids the typical endless list of drop-down menus found in other navigation systems. The system has an 8-inch LCD touch screen and has functions such as navigation, tri-zone climate control, audio entertainment system, connectivity and vehicle information. Directions, temperature and volume are controlled through typical rotary controls.

The MKS includes an all-wheel drive system, dual front air bags, driver and passenger side air bags and a side air curtain for rollover protection.
