Over the years, the SUV has been labelled the arch-enemy of the environment, but with the concept GMC Graphyte, drivers can ride through the cities and the rocky terrain guilt free.

Not only newer, sleeker, but greener, the GMC Graphyte merges the power and roominess of SUVs of the past but also includes fuel-efficient hybrid technology.

This technology not only saves on CO2 emissions, but also saves money for the owner. The new system includes a Vortec 5300 V-8 with Displacement on Demand (DoD) which adjusts the amount of fuel needed in different driving conditions, a battery pack for electrical power, and a more aerodynamic design to help get better mileage.

With all the adjustments, GMC says this gives the vehicles 25% improved mileage.
