Kia has the whole value thing down pat - now it's going for a little more excitement in its vehicles.

The company unveiled its latest concept vehicle at the 2007 North American International Auto Show, a sporty little thing called the 'Kue'. Kia classifies the Kue as a crossover utility vehicle (CUV) but with an added focus on performance. The company says that though it's 'purely a concept, the Kia Kue does hint at future styling directions for Kia Motors.'

The Kue features a less-is-more look; from the outside, wheels are pushed to the sides under muscular wheel flares with skin tautly stretched over its underpinnings. A single side door opens scissor style for easy ingress and egress.

All four passengers are treated to custom-built bucket seats and everyone will notice a technology-driven interface in front of them while inside the Kue. Touch pad and motion-sensing controls are used to adjust things like audio and climate, and the entire system is programmable so that one surface may activate the stereo for one driver and temperature for another. Rear passengers have their own, separate interface.

The all-wheel drive Kue has the powertrain to justify calling itself a performance vehicle as well, as it's fitted with 400-horsepower, DOHC, supercharged 4.6-liter V8 that produces 400 lb-ft of torque.
