What better way to spruce up a sedate sedan than by chopping its top off and making it a stunning convertible?

That's just what Citroen did with its C5 sedan. The C5 Airscape concept gives a glimpse into what a drop-top version of this car could look like. Of course, there's no telling if the C5 will get a production version of this convertible, but the handsome concept is sure to get people interested in the idea.

Though the C5 Airscape is meant to show the fun side of a C5 cabriolet, it also uses a new-generation Snow Motion traction control for when the weather gets cold. Citroen says that it provides a level of traction close to that of a four-wheel drive vehicle.

The exterior features cleanly drawn body lines and a grey paint job which changes in intensity depending on the light.

The interior, meanwhile, is fully upholstered in dark brown leather and the central section of the seats bring to mind the links of a watch strap. The edges of the seats also use decorative stitching.

Under the hood, the C5 Airscape gets a 2.7-litre V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
