Straight from Chiba, Japan, the Hyundai i-Blue concept will try to make the terms 'fuel cell vehicle' and ' for the masses' not so mutually exclusive.

The i-Blue concept is a car that was designed from Day One to be a fuel cell vehicle. It's also aims to provide 'all the safety, comfort, convenience and driving range of a traditional internal combustion engine vehicle' according to Dr. Hyun-Soon Lee, president of research and development.

Past Hyundai fuel cell vehicles have been built around SUV bodystyles, the i-Blue features a new 2+2 crossover utility vehicle (CUV) body type.

Hyundai's current third-generation fuel cell technology is being developed at Hyundai's Eco-Technology Research Institute in Mabuk, Korea.
