The funky Suzuki X-Head concept is sure to appeal as much to blue-collar workers as it will to six-year-olds.

The X-Head is a pickup truck that has a fun, lighthearted look, but can just as easily change into a rescue vehicle when needed.'

Suzuki says the X-Head has three distinct modes - Camper, which allows two adults to sleep in comfort, Fashion, which functions more for style in urban centres and Rescue, which is designed for emergency search and safety operations.

The X-Head combines the truck capability of the Grand Vitara and the the load-carrying capacity of the Suzuki APV van from Japan according to the automaker. The vehicle uses a full-time all-wheel drive system with limited slip center differential. It's fitted with a four-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC powerplant, which is matched to a six-speed dual clutch transmission.

As outlandish as the X-Head may look, the interior uses many practical and convenient features including a rear vision camera with wide monitor display and neoprene seats with net sheets for waterproofing. To further prove that this truck is all about preparedness, it even comes with a multi-utility toolbox that includes a combination flashlight/hammer.
