The Nissan Denki Cube concept isn't just a silly little vehicle made up to show off at Auto Shows, then be left collecting dust. Nissan has announced that the Cube (which is currently being sold outside of North America) will be coming to the U.S. and Canada in 2009.

To help bring attention to Nissan's global environmental efforts, the Denki Cube concept is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. The redesigned production model will use regular gasoline.

"Like the production Cube on which it is based, the Denki Cube Concept is boxy yet charming, fashionable and functional, and completely tuned in to today's needs for enjoyable efficiency."
