Cadillac going Platinum

Cadillac unveiled the XTS Platinum Concept in order to show a couple things – the design direction for the new full-sized sedan that will replace both the DTS and STS, and the new luxury trim that will permeate through the entire Cadillac stable.

In future lines, the luxury trim will be Platinum, while the performance trim will be the “V” series. The all-wheel drive XTS uses a dual-mode hybrid system consisting of Cadillac's 3.6-litre Direct Injection V6 paired with an electric motor. The plug-in system allows the car to extend its electric range. The extra battery can recharge from a standard outlet in about five hours.

And because it's a Cadillac, the XTS comes with a full complement of luxury amenities – laser-etched suede seats, pop-up infotainment system screens in the rear and wood trim.
