Concept points to the new sub-compact

Subaru is crowing about its past and present and offering glimpses into its future, with a concept Impreza sedan that will point to the new sub-compact. And it’s following the recent trend of a sleek roofline and pushing the car as a four-door coupe. The dynamic interior has lines flowing around the dash and onto the doors. It seats four in leather splendour, which also trims the platinum steering wheel and shift knob. The engine is a 2.0-litre version of the current 2.5-litre boxer four, meaning it may end up turbocharged in order to meet current horsepower figures. Control is entrusted to a continuously variable transmission distributing power to all four wheels, naturally. Look for the production car in the near future, as the current Impreza was a refresh more than a redesign.
