What could be cooler than a new Chrysler 200 convertible

convertible to launch into spring, and Chrysler is obliging with a new four-seat 200 Convertible. Redesigned, re-engineered and re-packaged with elegant craftsmanship inside and out, innovative technology and every available safety feature as standard equipment. Unlike other convertibles, buyers of the 200 get a choice of power operated tops (body-coloured hardtop or a cloth soft top). Inside, occupants get an available medi centre with 30 gigabyte hard drive, satellite radio and road information. A new suspension system reportedly keeps the ride pliant and body-shake in check, without totally obliterating handling manners. Power comes from Chrysler’s Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 or a 2.4-litre four-cylinder. Both are mated with six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2011 Chrysler 200 convertible starts at $29,995 (U.S. starting price is $27,195).

Hyundai Curb concept

The Hyundai Curb is not just a vision of a future compact Urban Activity Vehicle (UAV), but also a test bed for future Hyundai Blue Link and vehicle connectivity technology. The advanced Blue Link system uses a 12-inch display and a Head Up Display, with most functions controlled via touch sensors (as an example, occupants simply swipe a finger along an exterior touch pad to enter the vehicle). Also on the outside, everything is on board, with a pop up roof rack ready to take whatever can’t ride in the vehicle and a bike rack at pops out of the exhaust vents. For a small vehicle, Curb has big hauling capability with the emphasis on versatility, thanks to rear headrests mounted to the frame rather than the seats, so they retract into the roof when the rear seat goes down flat to the floor. This is the 12 concept from Hyundai’s California Design (HCD) studios, so it also carries the designation HCD-12.
