Car Research

Honda Element - Though the sportier Element SC is a pretty neat-looking car, the Element in any other trim level just isn't that pleasing to the eye. The boxy look doesn't work when combined with the plastic on the body.

Chrysler Sebring convertible - The Sebring goes from plain-jane to unattractive with the top lopped off.

Lexus SC430 - Some may accuse Lexus vehicles of being too much like their non-luxury equivalent Toyota in being bland and uninspired, but the automaker's L-Finesse design language is making for some great looking vehicles like the IS and LS. Unfortunately, the SC430 hasn't adopted that language and is now looking its age.

Ford Focus coupe - The Focus coupe doesn't incite a lot of emotion, unless you look at the Focus that drivers in Europe get. Then, North Americans' are liable to riot when they see the slick-looking model sold across the pond. The version sold here is bland, nondescript and simply not particularly nice-looking.

Mitsubishi Endeavor - Mitsubishi's big five-seat SUV loses points for both its exterior and interior. Considering Mitsu has some absolutely gorgeous designs (we're looking at your, Eclipse and Lancer), it's even more surprising that the Endeavor looks as bulbous and unappealing as it does. We understand it's supposed to be a rugged offroader, but that doesn't mean it can't be more attractive.

Toyota Yaris sedan/hatchback - We couldn't decide which bodystyle we disliked more, so both go hand-in-hand. Both the egg-like hatchback and unimaginative sedan tend to get double-takes on the road for all the wrong reasons.

Cadillac SRX - Some will argue that the design language Cadillac began adopting in 2003 hasn't aged well on any of its vehicles. It's tough to argue the aged looked of the SRX wagon specifically.

Volkswagen Beetle convertible - No, no, no. The coupe is way too sugary-sweet on its own, but the convertible just doesn't look right. There's nowhere for the soft top to be tucked away into when its time for open-air driving, so it just kind of gets awkardly piled onto the back.

Chevrolet Cobalt - Though this is touted by General Motors to be a younger sibling of the Corvette, it sure doesn't conjure any images of a sexy, lithe, iconic muscle car.

Chrysler PT Cruiser - The look of the PT Cruiser may have been unique and interesting when it was first introduced in 2000, but it has run its course. It's awkward just as awkward to use as it is to look at.
