Dry wash phone apps to remove boot scuffs

Waterless Car Wash

Price: $14.99

Available at: Canadian Tire

Description: Personally, when I wash my car, I like to use lots of water and plenty of suds. But if for whatever reason you need or want a waterless car wash experience then check out this product.

Some of us live in municipalities with by-laws that prohibit residents from washing their cars in their driveways. Others live in cities that may limit water use based on lower water levels during the peak season. In either case a waterless solution is the answer.

Car Apps

Price: varies according to the app

Available at: www.iconosys.com

Description: Caught speeding and need to fight the ticket? There’s an app for that! Believe it or not, California-based Iconosys has come up with a long menu of driver-related apps for smartphones and tablets that will let you do things you didn’t think possible.

Their “My Max Speed” app logs your speed every 5 seconds, stores the data in a spreadsheet, and can be tapped to display the exact physical location of your vehicle on a map at any given speed. If you got nailed for speeding when you really weren’t this can help you fight the charge in court.

But wait, there’s more. The company’s “DriveReply” app will block all phone calls and texts when you’re driving to limit driver distraction. At speeds greater than 25 km/hr the app auto replies a responsible message to inbound callers and texters, letting them know that you’re not available right now because you’re driving.

There’s plenty of other apps from which to choose, and it’s worth the time to take a closer look at their website for details.
