Pontiac is stirring the waters in Canada's small car market with the unique to Canada Pontiac Wave sedan, redesigned for 2007 with all-new exterior and interior.

The Wave offers generous features usually seen in more expensive cars including segment-exclusive Hold Control Mode for its optional automatic transmission. The feature helps reduce wheel spin and traction loss on slick roads by allowing the driver to select and hold a higher gear, thus reducing torque to the wheels.

The 2007 Wave sedan will be available in base and uplevel trim, offering a wide range of value-driven options to suit a variety of lifestyles. It is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor and features crisp, sculpted lines and a wide, confident stance, creating the illusion of a larger car.

It also features a roomier cabin, where theatre-style rear seating provides a commanding view for all passengers. A fully-reclining front passenger seat and 60/40-split folding rear seat expands Wave's interior cargo capacity.

Powering the 2007 Wave is GM's proven 1.6-litre 16-valve DOHC 4-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 103 horsepower and 107 lbs.ft. of torque. The engine is enhanced by a Variable Geometry Induction System which helps maximize power across the rpm range.

Power is delivered to the front wheels by either a standard 5-speed manual transaxle or an available 4-speed automatic with adaptive shift technology. Electronic throttle control enhances driveability and fuel economy, while reducing emissions.
