Hyundai Canada has introduced the new seven-seat Entourage to the minivan-happy Canadian marketplace and the company promises it to have everything a Canadian family wants in a minivan.

The Entourage will be available in four trim levels (GL, GL Comfort, GLS and the premium GLS.) and features third row seats that split 60/40 and fold flat into the floor. The minivan's overall length is more than that of competitors like the Honda Odyssey and the Toyota Sienna.

There are several standard safety features included in the Entourage. To name a few, there are 4-wheel disc brakes with a 4-wheel, 4-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (standard on the GLS trim), anti-whiplash active head restraints and six air bags including supplemental side-curtain air bags which help protect occupants in all three rows of seats during side impacts. All seats have three-point safety belts and adjustable head restraints.

The Entourage is fitted with a 3.8-litre V6 engine that produces more standard horsepower (242-horsepower) than the Ford Freestar, Chevrolet Uplander and Dodge Grand Caravan. It also has more torque (251 lbs.-ft.) than the Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Town & Country and Honda Odyssey. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior features gently curved front fenders, a sophisticated hood crease and a bold chrome grille. Fog lamps are standard on the Entourage GLS. The new Hyundai minivan is fitted with 16" wheels and tires, while 17" wheels and tires are standard on the GLS trim level.

Inside, the GL Comfort and GLS trim levels offer power dual sliding rear doors and power windows for second row passengers, adjustable conversation mirror and fold-away centre tray table with four cup holders. All trim levels include air vents for second and third row passengers. The driver gets folding side mirrors, tilt steering wheel and power adjustable pedals.

The GLS trim adds a power liftgate and leather seats with heated, power adjustable front seats.

“To exceed the expectations of demanding minivan owners out there we knew that this vehicle had to be special." said Steve Kelleher, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. "It had to offer more room, more power, more flexibility, more style, quality and value. With the 2007 Hyundai Entourage we have given Canadian minivan shoppers something that they have never had before…..a real reason to visit their Hyundai retailer for their next vehicle.”
