Featuring a 'passionate design,' Mitsubishi continues its 2007 product rollout with the redesigned Outlander SUV.

The new-look Outlander will debut a new 3.0-litre V6 MIVEC engine that will be mated to a standard 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting steering wheel paddles.

The Outlander will also feature an optional All-Wheel Control (AWC) system which is what Mitsubishi calls 'an advanced version of all-wheel drive.' A stowable third-row seat will also be available. On the technological side of things, the Outlander will come standard with a Bluetooth hands-free cell phone interface, FAST-Key access system, optional 650-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system and a new hard drive navigation system.

All Outlander models will come pre-wired for an available Sirius satellite radio system. Sirius is automatically included when the Rockford-Fosgate audio system is chosen. The speakers include dual soft-dome tweeters; 6.5-in. mid-woofer speakers in the front door panels, and 6.5-in. two-way coaxial 2-way speakers in the rear door panels. Mitsubishi engineers worked with Rockford-Fosgate engineers to tune the Outlander's doors to function as speaker cabinets, extending response and increasing clarity.

A rear-seat DVD entertainment system is available. It features a 9-inch widescreen LCD, hookups for game systems and a set of wireless headphones so front and rear occupants can listen to different programs.
