Not to be outdone by its redesigned sibling the Sebring, the Chrysler Pacifica has plenty of its own new features to show off for the 2007 model year, including a more powerful engine, more standard safety features and an updated interior and exterior.

The Pacifica is aimed at families (with five or six passenger seating) and as such, safety features play a big part in it. The newest model comes standard with all-row side curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), traction control, brake assist as well as an available rear back up camera.

On the powertrain side, the 2007 Pacifica gets a new 4.0-liter SOHC V-6 engine, which is the most powerful naturally aspired V-6 in Chrysler's lineup. It produces 255 hp @ 6000 rpm and 265 lb. ft. of torque @ 4200 rpm, which is 15 more lb. ft. of torque at peak power rpm, and up to 35 lb. ft. more torque than the previous 3.5-liter V-6 engine. It's mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission and Chrysler adds that this new system helps reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) in the vehicle for a more comfortable ride. The front-wheel drive Pacifica comes standard with a 3.8-litre V6 that produces 205 horsepower and 235 lb. ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a four-speed automatic.

The exterior has been updated for 2007 to keep it in line with the rest of the Chrysler lineup (including the aforementioned new Sebring). These updates include a new grille with three horizontal bars and the distinctive Chrysler winged badge, the 'face-of-Chrysler' headlamps and a full-width chrome accent strip on the front fascia.

The interior now includes special cloth seats that are stain resistant, odor resistant and anti-static, a two-tone instrument panel and door trim and revised instrument cluster graphics.

Optional features on the 2007 Pacifica include 10-way power adjustable driver's seat, six-disc in-dash CD player and heated front seats.

The Chrysler Pacifica is assembled at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario. Launch date and prices will be announced at a later date.
