For those who think four doors are just too much - or just not sexy enough - Nissan is for the first time in the vehicle's history coming out with a coupe version of the Altima.

Nissan says that much of the looks from the redesigned Altima sedan is present on the new coupe, but it will still have its own identity thanks to unique styling.

The coupe also shares the same platform, powertrain and 'innovations' as the sedan according to Nissan.

Two engine choices are available, the first being a 3.5-litre DOHC V6 that is rated at 270-horsepower and 258 lbs.-ft. of torque. The second is a 2.5-litre DOHC inline 4-cylinder which produces 175-horsepower and 180 lbs.-ft. of torque. This engine has been refined from the previous version, with a larger, equal-length intake manifold, increased compression ratio and reduced friction characteristics.

Both engines are available with Nissan's continuously variable transmission (for improved fuel economy) or 6-speed manual transmission.
