Coming soon to the Great White North: a Civic Si with a little more day-to-day practicality, thanks to a couple more doors.

Honda announced that the new Civic Si sedan will be debuting in Canada in October 2008 for $26,680. The Si sedan is mechanically the same as its coupe sibling. This means it uses the same 16-valve, 2.0-litre engine in the coupe, which develops 197-horsepower and 139 lb.-ft. of torque. It also uses drive-by-wire throttle control for smooth acceleration response.

The engine is mated exclusively to an six-speed manual transmission. The Si sedan also features a sport-oriented, speed-sensitive Electric Power Steering (EPS) system that increases power assist at low speeds and reduces power assist at high speeds.

Outside, the sedan features 17" alloy wheels and performance tires, rear spoiler and special 'Si' badging.
