The mood was bullish as Chrysler unveiled the 2009 Dodge Ram at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, in front of the bundled up crowd, and a herd of…bulls.

The cattle turned out to be a little unruly in the middle of downtown Detroit, but the new Ram looks focused with much cleaner styling than the previous model.

Big changes come in the form of a coil-spring rear suspension instead of the standard leaf-spring system, and a “Rambox” storage area that gives 8.6 cubic feet or storage inside the bed’s sidewall above the wheel well.

The truck will hit the road in the fall of 2008, with a Hemi hybrid coming in 2009.
