BMW Motorrad continues its creative streak by offering six new or extensively revised 2008 models. By mid-year, the lineup will number 19 models.

The Bavarian firm launches two new F-series enduros – the F650GS and F800GS. Successors to the long-term single-cylinder F650GS, both are powered by the new liquid-cooled, four-valve parallel twin introduced on the F800 series.

The HP2 boxer-twin series gains a third family member (the HP2 enduro arrived in 2006) with the introduction of the HP2 Megamoto and HP2 Sport.

The former is a twin-cylinder supermoto, while the latter, rated at 128 hp and weighing just 178 kg, is the most powerful and lightest Boxer-twin yet. Both are for hard-core performance riders.

In the adventure touring category, the R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure have been reworked with chassis, engine and styling changes. The all-new BMW G450X Sports Enduro will be introduced in the second half of 2008.
