Hey! You know what the best part is of a gigantic auto show with several thousand media-weasels in attendance? Trying to find a place to sit down and write up your stuff for your cruel editors back home in Canada! Oh no, wait. That’s the hardest part.

Anyway, Honda brought its A-game to Switzerland. After president and CEO Takeo Fukui dispensed with the usual sales-are-up/ CO2 emissions are down/ everything’s coming up green litany that is every manufacturer’s standard opener at this show (and, uh every other auto show you will read about in the next few years), the latest Accord for Europe was uncovered.

The Accord brand keeps its redesigned distinction in its Euro-incarnation, but with the addition of a touring wagon to the line. Here’s an Accord that would play well in North American markets as well (and likely will as the new Acura TSX), with its stretched cabin and three available engine types; 2.0 and 2.4 litre gasoline, or a 2.2 litre i-DTEC diesel powerplant. The Accord Tourer is a direct evolution of the concept that was first shown last year in Frankfurt, and it likely won’t make it to North America.
