A big change to little Versa

For the cost-conscious and fuel-conscious drivers in Canada, Nissan has something to satisfy both needs in a big way.

Nissan Canada has announced the lowest-priced new car in Canada, the Nissan Versa 1.6 sedan, which will have an MSRP of $12,498. The number in the name refers to the sedan's engine, a 1.6-litre 4-banger that is smaller - and more fuel efficient - than the regular Versa's 1.8-litre engine.

The Versa 1.6 produces 107-horsepower, while producing EnerGuide fuel economy numbers of 7.7 L /100 km in the city and 5.8 L/100 km on the highway when equipped with the standard 5-speed manual transmission.

A Value Option Package can be added to the Versa 1.6 which adds A/C, power windows, heated power mirrors and remote keyless entry among other features. A 4-speed automatic transmission can be added as an option, while all Versas come standard with six airbags.
