A "way to celebrate familyhood"

It isn’t just the all-electric Leaf that’s creating a buzz at the Nissan stand at the LA Auto Show. Carlos Tavares, chairman of Nissan Americas, rolled out the new 2011 Quest minivan as a “way to celebrate familyhood.”

Forget the soccer mom stereotype, Tavares says the new Quest is “a true parent’s car that both mom and dad will enjoy.”

Dad, especially, will like its 3.5-litre V6 that makes 253 hp and the useful flat cargo floor. Mom will like the flexible interior and emphasis on safety and reliability.

And everyone will enjoy the view from the dramatic sweep of the full surround side windows. (When kids get bored with that, many in-vehicle entertainment options are available.)

Quest goes on sale early in the new year with a starting MSRP of $27,750. Canadian pricing is yet to be determined.
