Infiniti is expanding its sedan lineup with the introduction of the mid-level 2006 M-car, and will fit its world-renowned 3.5 V6 in it for the first time, to create an M35.

The lineup will be headed up by the M45 luxury sedan that features the same engine used in the Q45 and FX45 vehicles - a 4.5-litre DOHC V8 engine that produces 340 horsepower. The M35 will use the heralded VQ series 3.5-litre V6 that makes 275-plus horsepower, and is used in the G35 and FX35, as well as Nissan cars and trucks from Altima to Z-roadster.

Other features on the M45 are: Lane Departure Warning system, Rear Active Steer System and 19-inch wheels with high-performance tires.

Pricing information will be available later in 2004, in preparation for a spring 2005 introduction.
