Aston Martin unveiled a new Vanquish S at the 2004 Paris auto show. The 6.0-litre V12 Vanquish S has a top speed of 321 km/h.

"The Vanquish is our flagship model and the standard 460bhp will continue to be built," said Aston Martin CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez. "However, this derivative makes the car even more exceptional. The latest Vanquish S is not only the fastest Aston Martin ever, but it is the best handling too. It is the ultimate high-performance Aston Martin."

Peak power comes at 520-horsepower and 425 lb-ft torque delivered at 5200rpm.

The Vanquish S goes from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

The new Vanquish is available as either a two-seater or four-seater.

Interior features include leather-trimmed and power-controlled sports seats, heated rear screen, six CD changer, alarm system and tire pressure monitoring system.

The Vanquish features 19-inch wheels and each body panel is made from aluminum to help reduce overall weight.

As an added bonus, buyers of the new Aston Martins were eligible for a free performance driving course. In North America, the course was offered at Ford's proving grounds in Romeo, Michigan.
