General Motors of Canada has suggested to its dealers that the retail price (MSRP) for the new 2005 Buick Allure should be $25,200. It will be available in CX, CXL and CXS trim levels.

Mark Alger, Marketing Manager for GM Midsize Cars, said, "With the Allure, Buick offers its legendary appeal in a new premium car that features elegant design, expertly crafted interiors, smooth power and a comfortable yet responsive ride."

Allure (LaCrosse in the United States) features an all-new exterior with a sculpted, sleek shape that gives it a strong front appearance and an elegant and dramatic presence from any angle. Notable features include a more modern rendition of Buick's grille framed by four headlamps and sculpted forms in the hood.

Significant emphasis was placed on Buick's goal of providing best-in-class quietness. This initiative, called "QuietTuning,"' is an all-encompassing approach to reduce unwanted noise and vibration levels even further throughout the entire body.

The CX and CXL are powered by the 3.8L 3800 V-6, one of GM's most renowned engines, now in Series III form. Standard in the CXS is a new aluminum engine, the 3.6L V-6 with variable valve timing that delivers an estimated 240 horsepower.

Standard features include remote keyless entry, a power driver's seat, power door locks, power windows, and six-speaker stereo radio with CD player. Options include power sunroof, heated seats, steering-wheel-mounted audio and climate controls and stereo system upgrades including in-dash six-disc CD changer or MP3 player.

New optional safety/security features include side curtain air bags that deploy from the roof rail, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist, and factory-installed remote starting system - a first for any Buick car.

As with the Century and Regal it replaces, Allure will be built in Oshawa, Ontario.
