The Geneva Auto Show was home to the introduction of the Jaguar XK 4.2-S Special Edition. Available as either a coupe or convertible, they will feature new interior and exterior colours as well as special badging in honour of Jaguar's racing heritage.

The Special Edition XK will have two engine configurations - both will be 4.2-litre V-8s, but the XKR will be supercharged, producing 400-horsepower, while the XK8 will be naturally aspirated and will produce 300-horsepower.

The new exterior colours available only on these special edition Jaguars will be Copper Black, Frost Blue, Bay Blue and Satin Silver. This will be in addition to available colours already in the Jaguar lineup. The XK8 will have 19-inch wheels while the XKR will have 20-inch wheels with Brembo brakes with red brake calipers.

The XK8 will have an interior elm trim available and the XKR will have the sportier carbon fibre finish (the elm finish will be available as a no-cost option though).

New standard features and technology that can be found on the Special Edition XKs include Bluetooth wireless technology, electrically operated power-folding side mirrors, headlamp powerwashers, a heated front windscreen with automatic rain sensor, heated and electrically adjustable front seats with memory settings and Xenon headlamps.

"The current Jaguar XK remains one of the true delights in motoring," says Phil Hodgkinson, Director, Product Engineering, Jaguar Cars. "The AJ-V8 is one of the greatest Jaguar engines ever and with an array of high-tech engineering solutions and driver aids beneath the bonnet, the 2006MY series will be a true driver's car."
