General Motors of Canada announced today pricing on its 2006 Buick Lucerne sedan. The new Lucerne follows Buick's new design direction, new QuietTuning process to eliminate excess cabin noise and three trim levels with two engine options.

The base CX, equipped only with a 3.8-litre V6, will have a base manufacturer's suggested retail price of $30,995. The V6-equipped CXL model will start at $33,355; a V8-equipped CXL will be $36,235. The more performance-oriented CXS is equipped only with the 4.6-litre V8 and will start at $42,685.

Standard equipment on all models includes side thorax airbags for driver and front passenger, head curtain airbags for front and outboard rear seat passengers, traction control, five-passenger seating, 16" aluminum wheels, air conditioning, 6-way power driver's seat, 6-speaker audio system, OnStar, power door locks and windows, and 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS.

Customers will also be able to choose from a long list of options, some of which include a remote starter, XM satellite radio, heated and cooled leather seats and 18" wheels.

The new 2006 Lucerne goes on sale in the fourth quarter of 2005.
