Featuring a 500-hp 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 driving all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic, the Bentley Continental GT offers true supercar performance combined with the interior space and versatility to also make it a viable everyday car.

The coupe was styled in house at Bentley's design studios in Crewe to incorporate all traditional Bentley design hallmarks into a totally contemporary package that would seat a family of four in comfort and provide enough luggage space for a two-week driving vacation.

The Continental GT will be manufactured at Crewe in all-new facilities that combine state of the art technologies with the unique hand finishing and attention to detail that have been the hallmark of all cars to wear the winged 'B'. And while the Continental GT is a Bentley from bumper to bumper, the role of the company's Volkswagen parent can scarcely be ignored.

But beyond making the funds available to design an all-new Bentley, VW also helped transform the Crewe factory into a thoroughly modern centre of manufacturing excellence, ensuring not only that Bentley is in better shape than ever, but also guaranteeing its design, engineering and manufacturing sovereignty far into the future.

Inspired by the finest Grand Touring traditions, the Continental GT is the fastest 4-seat coupe in the world, reaching a top speed in excess of 290 km/h and capable of going from zero to 100 km/h in less than five seconds.

Control is provided by a 6-speed automatic with sequential-shift mode available to the driver through steering wheel paddles. All-wheel drive and electronic stability programme were considered essential not only for the Continental GT's performance, but also to provide year-round versatility in all conditions.
